I met my wife in Brighton when she worked there. My wife is from Warrington. When we talked about starting a family, she suggested moving to Warrington to have the support of her family.

We moved to Warrington in 2005 from Brighton. On our first Friday night, I asked my wife out, but she said there was not anywhere to eat out in the town. If you did not book for a table at a pub, you would not get any table, as choices were limited. At that time, the town did not have too many restaurants or eateries. It has boomed in the last 15 years for the eating out and entertaining, which has been good to see. I initially worked at Warrington Golf Club, before I opened the coffee shop in 2016.

I have three sons, all born in Warrington. We like the schools and hospital, as all are very family friendly, supporting us to bring the family here.

I found the locals very friendly. I have made quite a few good friends and learnt more about rugby and how important it is to the town and its culture.

The town has rich culture and history that they could make more of. The industrial area of the town and the military history. One may be surprised if you dig deeper. Roman used the Mersey crossing point as it is the shortest point, and it has been a very important crossing point for thousands years. That’s why it is good for the logistics aspect.

There is a lot more about the town than meets the eye, it is subtle, alot of history and heritage is all around if you look for it.
