I moved to Warrington from Runcorn in 2008 after I met my wife in 2007 whist attending Warrington collegiate where we were both studying business management. We bought our first house together on Manchester Road in Warrington near to the town centre. At that time, I didn’t know anyone from the town and so I joined the local squash club. Everyone at the club was very welcoming and I am still friends with lots of them today even though I don’t play squash anymore. 

We renovated our house and started a family and we needed to move to a bigger house. We moved to Rixton in 2012 where our 3 children went to the local school, St Hellens primary. We found everyone at the school and the local community friendly and helpful. 

In 2016 we decided to open an antique shop at our home in Rixton. It was originally called NicsNacs. We ran this shop for 4 years and were open to the public every Sunday. During this time, we met hundreds of local people from Warrington and the surrounding areas. Everyone was really nice and we made lots of friends. I think the antiques business is something that brings lots of people together. Many people love to talk about old and interesting items that they have or used to own. We still run our business from our home, but it is now called Anterior, we are based on-line and mostly sell antique furniture all over the country and overseas. 

Overall, I’d say Warrington is a great place to live. The town has seen lots of investment since we moved here and the town centre is a great place to go. The town has good transport links making it a good place to run a business from.
